About Tanya Aure
Tanya is an independent college specialist who guides students through the college admissions process AND helps parents navigate the financial aid system to make college as affordable as possible. Tanya grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, with a B.A. in English and History and continued on to graduate from law school from Case Western Reserve Law. After graduating, Tanya built a successful career as a legal editor for Bloomberg BNA in Washington, D.C. and Arlington, Virginia. She focused mainly on corporate law and specifically corporate governance. She edited several manuscripts, published articles and even covered the Supreme Court from time to time. When Tanya moved to San Diego, she continued to freelance for Bloomberg and local clients.
After going through a divorce, Tanya turned to the financial industry to figure out how she was going to pay/save for college for her two sons. She found a college planning niche. After extensive research and training with a leading expert in the college financial planning field, she now teaches families how to send their students to colleges best suited to them as affordably as possible. Her education, life experience and training gives Tanya a unique advantage to financially and academically helping families plan for college and beyond.
Tanya recently remarried and lives with her two sons, two pugs and rabbit in Point Loma. When she is not working, she is chasing her boys, playing tennis and spending time with friends.
