How Does a CDFA Help During Divorce?

As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®), I help people going through divorce clarify their finances so that they can make informed decisions. My role as a CDFA® professional is to assist my clients to understand how the financial decisions they make today will impact their financial future.

I can work as either an advocate for one party or as a neutral for both parties. Having gone through my own divorce, I understand the many hurdles that arise when planning for a new financial future.

College Planning During Divorce

During a divorce, there are so many things to think about when it comes to your finances, including how you will support your kids and pay for things like college, together. The price of college is continuously rising and for those students that want to go to college, but are concerned about how to pay for it, I can support divorcing families by gathering their financial information, calculating their possible financial aid eligibility and then analyzing the data to create the most efficient plan for you to pay for college.

I can provide a side-by-side comparison of the schools that your child has applied to and how families can afford each school. I build a step-by-step plan with the family and/or separating partners to pay for college and minimize any debt after graduation. I have helped several families save thousands of dollars over the years.

I meet you where you are and take into account whether you have been able to save for college, your current assets and cash flow.
